Esther Charlestin is the founder and chief conversational guide at Conversation Compass LLC, a consulting firm she founded in 2023 to help individuals and organizations unlock their potential through effective communication. Leveraging her expertise in strategic planning, communication strategy, and human behavior, Esther has developed a reputation for guiding clients through complex communication challenges and fostering environments where meaningful dialogue thrives.
As an expert in conflict resolution, active listening, and emotional intelligence, Esther has worked with a diverse range of clients, from professionals seeking to improve workplace communication to individuals seeking more authentic personal connections. Through Conversation Compass, she offers customized coaching, workshops, and consulting services that empower individuals and teams to communicate with purpose, build stronger relationships, and achieve their goals.
Esther’s extensive background includes leadership roles in various educational and organizational settings. Before founding Conversation Compass, she served as the Dean of Climate & Culture at Middlebury Union Middle School, where she implemented school-wide behavior management systems and coached administrators, counselors, and staff on fostering a culture of academic success. Her expertise also extends to community standards, having worked as the Assistant Director of Community Standards at Middlebury College, where she managed the day-to-day administration of the conduct system and led campus-wide restorative practices efforts.
Earlier in her career, Esther worked as a Residence Director at Middlebury College and an Area Director at Bryant University, where she developed and implemented diversity and inclusion programs and supported students in navigating personal and academic challenges. Her leadership experience also includes managing large-scale projects and cross-functional teams, as well as negotiating contracts, budgeting, and financial planning for her consultancy.
Esther holds a Master of Arts in Communication, Corporate Communication & Public Relations from Sacred Heart University, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching. She is also a graduate of the Vermont Leadership Institute and EMERGE, a program focused on political leadership for women. Esther is committed to empowering others through thoughtful, strategic communication and is passionate about helping her clients navigate the complexities of today’s conversational landscape.
